Producing and running the social voice of a Media legend

Role: Social content producer and account manager · Client: Stan Lee Universe / Kartoon Studios · Platform: Instagram · Outcome: Transitioned to in-house team

A globally recognized voice · Multi-generational audience · Daily original content and community response

The Challenge

Most brands can absorb a post that doesn't quite land. This one can't.

Stan Lee's audience spans people who bought the comics off a spinner rack and people who found him through a Marvel cameo — and every one of them knows the voice intimately. It's warm, generous, a little theatrical, and completely specific. There's no neutral register to fall back on. A post that sounds like a brand instead of like him doesn't just underperform; it reads as wrong to a few hundred thousand people simultaneously.

The job wasn't reach. It was fidelity, at daily cadence, without a safe default.

What I Did

I produced the original social content and ran the account day to day — concepting, creating, publishing, and handling community response.

Working inside a voice like this means treating it as a discipline rather than a reference. I built to what the audience actually came for: the enthusiasm, the direct address, the sense that the person on the other end genuinely liked you. Then I held that consistently across a publishing schedule, which is where most voice-driven accounts break down. Voice is easy to hit once and hard to hit two hundred times.

The community side mattered as much as the posts. An audience with that much affection for a figure shows up in the comments expecting to be met, and how you answer is part of the voice too.

Results

{NUMBER: follower growth, engagement rate, or a standout post's reach — fill from actual account data}

I ran the account until it transitioned to the Kartoon Studios in-house team — the point at which the property had grown enough to bring social operations under one roof.

{NUMBER: optional — length of engagement, or volume of content produced}

The takeaway: with a voice this well known, the work isn't building an audience. It's earning the right to speak in front of one that already exists.
